Kline Swinney Associates (KSA), headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, boasts a remarkable 67-year legacy in the realms of Architecture, Planning, and Interior Design. The journey commenced in 1956 as Burney Tucker and Associates, later transitioning through Tucker Kline Associates, and ultimately adopting the present name, Kline Swinney Associates. This enduring history, coupled with an unwavering pursuit of excellence, has enabled us to amass a team of adept, passionate, and committed professionals. Curiosity, the key to creativity and innovation
Our History
The origins of our company trace back to 1956 when Burney Tucker, a decorated World War II Veteran and former high school all-state football star, established his own architecture firm. Burney had served as a pilot in the Marine Corps' "Black Sheep Squadron" during the war and his leadership skills carried over to his career in architecture. In 1972, Tucker joined forces with David Kline, a business partner, prompting the firm's name change to Tucker Kline Associates. In 1986, following Mr. Tucker's passing and a merger with Robert (Bob) L. Swinney & Associates, the firm adopted the name Kline Swinney Associates. David and Bob worked together to propel the company to success, forging strong relationships with local businesses and clients.
After David Kline's passing, Bart Kline assumed the role of Partner, continuing his father's legacy. Bob Swinney and Bart have since co-led KSA, overseeing the company's ongoing growth and prosperity. In 2023, long-time employee Tim Piansay was named Partner alongside Bart, as Bob Swinney stepped down to enjoy a well-earned retirement with his family.
