Kline Swinney Associates provided the architectural services for the restoration of this circa 1815 residence and assisted the owner in having it placed on the National Historical Register. The Federalist style structure had been abandoned for over 25 years and fallen into severe disrepair. Both the interior and the exterior required complete restoration along with studied duplication of missing molding and trim. Since its restoration the residence has served as a museum and as an example of houses of its era. In 1993 the restoration received the Historic Merit Award from the Tennessee Historical Commission.
